Print Your Passport Photo the Right Way
Mail-in US passport applications need two identical printed 2×2 photos on photo-quality paper. You can print at home or upload our 4×6 layout to a Walgreens, CVS, or Walmart photo kiosk—often for under a dollar.
Choose your print method
Pick the option that matches your timeline and equipment. All methods start with a correctly cropped digital file.
- Home printer: single 2×2 on matte or glossy photo paper (best with a photo printer)
- Drugstore kiosk: upload our 4×6 sheet layout and print multiple 2×2 copies to cut apart
- In-store passport service: staff take and print two copies—most expensive but same-day
Using the 4×6 sheet layout (recommended)
After cropping in our free tool, choose the 4×6 print layout on the preview step. The sheet fits several 2×2 photos you can cut with scissors or a trimmer. Upload the file at a store kiosk or print at home on 4×6 photo paper.
- Select United States 2×2 template before cropping
- On preview, pick the 4×6 sheet option—not single digital download only
- Print at actual size (100% scale)—do not fit to page or resize in the print dialog
Paper and quality rules
Use matte or glossy photo paper—not regular office paper. Prints must be sharp, undamaged, and show accurate skin tones. Mail-in applications require two identical copies.
